Alison Wistner

About Alison

Alison is responsible for Upwell’s corporate strategy and operational leadership and brings a broad range of investment experience in healthcare services and HCIT companies to her role. Prior to joining Upwell, Alison was managing director at Mercato Partners, a private equity firm managing $450M focused on growth stage technology companies. She was also principal at Prospector Equity Capital (PEC), CFO of Zane Benefits, vice president at Hunter Capital, and a financial analyst for NationsBanc Montgomery Securities. She was named a ‘Top 40 Under Forty’ by Utah Business magazine and received the Trailblazer Award from the Women Tech Council. Alison holds a BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a collegiate diver. In her free time, she enjoys CrossFit, mountain biking, and taking advantage of Park City’s abundant outdoor recreational opportunities.

As Upwell’s chief administrative officer, Patrick oversees all business administration functions and participates in the development of strategic initiatives and tactical plans to ensure the achievement of key organizational objectives. Patrick brings 19 years of private and public company operations experience to Upwell. Previously, he served as Skullcandy’s vice president of strategic initiatives and corporate affairs and chief legal officer, leading several departments internationally. Prior to that, he held various management and legal roles at national companies. Patrick received a Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University, a BS in economics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and is a CPA. Patrick lives in Park City with his wife and two young children, and enjoys snowboarding, running, and camping in his spare time.

After spending 20+ years in the technology and advertising/publishing space with companies such as Rakuten and Adobe, Bridget is uniquely qualified to conceptualize and implement programs that engage and influence customers. Bridget’s professional passions include developing strategies to drive revenue and growth through market intel and using technology as a facilitator to increase efficiency, automation, and ROI. She received her degree from UMass Amherst. Outside of the office, Bridget blows off steam with yoga, skiing, and trail running.

Josh brings an impressive blend of expertise, passion, and healthcare experience to his role as chief operating officer. He previously served as COO at Imagine Health and Optum, and has an extensive background developing the framework for multiple companies that have achieved transformational growth in the healthcare space. Josh’s primary focus is on helping UpWell operationalize relationships with PBMs, payers, and manufacturers, while overseeing the technology, IT, pharmacy operations, and project management teams. Josh has a BS from the University of Utah and an MBA from the George Washington School of Business. When he isn’t spending time with his wife and three energetic children, he can be found skiing, cycling, and running the trails along the Wasatch range.

As VP of Strategic Partnerships, Melissa is responsible for identifying, nurturing, and growing key relationships with industry partners to deliver on the UpWell vision. Melissa spent over a decade on Wall Street as a healthcare equity research analyst and portfolio manager. She left the world of investments to help start Navigenics, a Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers company that was a pioneer in the industry now known as consumer or personal genomics. Most recently, Melissa led customer success and business development teams at Imagine Health, a company that builds high performance health plans for large self-funded employers. Melissa graduated from Princeton University and lives with her husband and three children in Park City, where they can be found skiing, camping, and fishing.

As Upwell’s VP of Sales, Josh provides leadership and mentoring to all member-facing teams. Josh brings a wealth of experience in sales and customer experience to this role. As Clearlink’s VP of Sales, he had the opportunity to grow a sales team of 30 people into more than 1,000 employees over the span of eight years and demonstrated an impressive ability to improve service levels, create new efficiencies, and inspire large teams. Josh received his BA from the University of Utah and enjoys listening to music, spending time with his family, and nerding out on mountain biking.

Prior to Upwell, Valerie was VP of engagement at Mercato Partners, an active growth equity investor in the technology and branded consumer sectors. She also ran corporate marketing at Fuze and was a writer and editor for companies ranging from MTV and CBS to Reuters and the Winter Olympic Games. Valerie received her BA from James Madison University and is an avid hiker, voracious reader, and superfan of all things NPR in her free time.

Tim joined Upwell after spending 25 years as a technology journalist and serving as editor-in-chief of Adobe’s CMO.com, where he nurtured the site into one of the largest and most impactful resources for marketing executives. Tim received his BA from Long Island University, earned his MA from SUNY Stony Brook, and is based in New York.

Amy previously ran programmatic digital and data science teams in the ad tech industry at companies like Rakuten. She received both her BS and MS from the University of Utah. Outside of work, Amy is passionate about baseball and general outdoorsiness (dream retirement job: campground host).
